Jeffrey Thompson, DO

Dr. Jeffrey Thompson is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and motion preservation procedures of the spine. He serves patients throughout Long Island, New York City, and Northern New Jersey.

A graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Thompson earned his medical degree before completing his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center. He went on to pursue advanced fellowship training in spine surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts — one of the nation’s premier institutions for spine care — where he received extensive instruction in degenerative spine conditions, complex adult deformity, and minimally invasive surgical techniques of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

Dr. Thompson is an active member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the North American Spine Society, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

An accomplished academic and clinician, Dr. Thompson has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at national conferences in the fields of orthopedic and spine surgery. His clinical expertise covers a wide spectrum of spinal disorders, from degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis to complex deformity correction and revision surgeries, with a particular emphasis on minimally invasive approaches and preserving patient mobility.
